A.niger comes to a screeching halt

December 1, 2009

It takes a surprising amount of time to sub a show on your own each week.

What I don’t have right now is a lot of extra time, because I’ve got a lot of things to get done.

I believe there are currently three other English groups doing Aoi Bungaku right now. They’ve been slower than me, but presumably, they’ll get the eps done.

I originally started subbing Aoi Bungaku because it looked like nobody else was going to commit to it. Now that that’s not the case, I can’t really justify 6-8 hours of my week spent subbing this for no real reward while I have a lot of IRL stuff to deal with.

So you’ll have to wait for someone else to catch up, for the time being. If the later eps float around untranslated for months like Mouryou no Hako did, I will sub them. But otherwise, hope you enjoyed the releases up to this point. It was an interesting experience.

A.niger, over and out.

Aoi Bungaku 07-08 HQ

November 29, 2009

Can be found here

Okay, there’s your higher quality version. No 3D intro because lol raw groups.

Hashire Melos is up next.

Aoi Bungaku 07-08

November 26, 2009

Has finally been released

Yes, bit lower quality this time, but I’ve folded to all the complaints about large file sizes and went for smaller this week. If it’s really a big deal to any of you, I might upload a larger one too once I get holiday stuff done with.

This is the full Kokoro arc. I mostly avoided translating “Ojou-san” as “Ojou-san” because that’s silly and they never say her actual name (Nor is it anywhere in the book, I believe).

Aoi bungaku 7-8 is underway

November 23, 2009

This week will be a bit longer of a wait, because both ep 7 and 8 (The full Kokoro arc) aired. That’s a lot to sub, so be patient, it should hopefully be out sometime tomorrow.

Also, thanks to AnimeSenshi for re-encoding ep 6. I haven’t seen the quality of the encode, but hopefully that will provide a solution for some of you who have been mentioning that.

Aoi Bungaku 06

November 16, 2009

Has been released.

This is the second and final episode of the Under the Sakura arc.

Karaoke might be slightly less CPU-intensive this time (slightly), but if it’s giving you problems, you can disable it during the singing parts.

Well then. Until next week.

Cheburashka dropped

November 14, 2009

II-subs has stopped taking days to sub cheburashka, and so there’s no real reason to continue with it. I’ll now be focusing exclusively on Aoi Bungaku.

Aoi Bungaku 05

November 9, 2009

Can be found here.

This episode is the start of a new arc (“In the Woods Beneath the Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom”).

Also, there’s some karaoke action going on this time.

Well then, until next week. I’ve got to go and pretend I have things to do.

lol

Aoi Bungaku Ep 04

November 2, 2009

Has been released here

This is the final episode of the No Longer Human arc.

You might have to pause a bit to read the opening sequence, it was a lot of dialog crammed into a minute or so.
